The St Kilda site has first aid kits, fire extinguishers and a fire blanket, for dealing with small incidents. These are located as shown in the following Site Arrangement diagram. Full directions for use are provided with each item.
SITE ARRANGEMENT
More detailed information is provided in the Laboratory Emergency Response Plan for laboratory emergencies.
In the event that First Aid is required, obtain assistance from a staff member with first aid training.
All incidents shall be reported to the Principal Consultant and an incident investigation initiated (extension 804).
In the event of a larger emergency, staff shall exit the buildings and assemble in the car park. Emergency services shall be contacted by phone on 000 (Fire, Ambulance, Police, as required).
