Laboratory Emergency Response Plan

The laboratory contains an eye wash station, first aid kit, fire extinguisher and chemical spill kit, for dealing with small incidents. These are located as shown in the following Laboratory Arrangement diagram. Full directions for use are provided with each item.
In the event that First Aid is required, obtain assistance from a staff member with first aid training.
All incidents shall be reported to the Principal Consultant and an incident investigation initiated (extension 804).
In the event of a larger emergency, staff shall exit the laboratory and assemble in the car park. Emergency services shall be contacted by phone on 000 (Fire, Ambulance, Police, as required).
